3. (20 marks) Gestures. State the topic of your course research project. Imagine that you have been instructed to create a set of mid-air gestures for your course project. From the set of considerations on slides 33-36 of the gestures lecture, choose three that would be important to your project. For each of the considerations, describe how you would design mid-air gestures to ensure that you would get the greatest benefit from the gesture set.

4. (20 marks) Emerging paradigms. Consider the HCI Grand Challenges discussed in the emerging paradigms lecture. Choose one of the grand challenges which could impact on your group project for the course. Identify the grand challenge and describe why it is relevant to your group project. Describe what considerations you would need to address in your group project to ensure that the impact of this grand challenge is factored into your approach for the project.

5. (20 marks) Answer only one question: i or ii.
i. Designing interactions. One consideration in designing interactions for a system is to identify the ecosystem of devices and software that could be brought to bear in the system. Reflect upon your group project and describe the following:
a. What devices could you use?
b. What role does each support?
c. What different user stories and requirements does each device support?
d. What interaction flows are there between devices?
ii. Ethics. Autonomy refers to the right to freely decide and act. What standards of ethical research practice protect autonomy, and how? Based on the example of text editors in the value-sensitive design reading, discuss the balance of how much interface control to provide to users in order to support autonomy.
