DECO2102 Introduction to Interface Design

Description

This assignment will require you to present the findings of your usability evaluations and your final design solution. Your presentation will be a report (or a visual report) and accompanying commentary for your usability evaluations. At the same time, your design solution will be presented as an interactive prototype (interface click-through).

Report Structure may have the following headings:

1. Introduce your Topic, a concise and crisp introduction such as the background, problem statement, context (max 150- 200 words)

2. Final Wireframes iterated based on the Heuristic Evaluation from A4.

3. Design System or UI Kit (colours, typography, buttons, components etc.)

4. Final Hi-fidelity Design Screens- This is your Figma screens

● Main platform screens: minimum 6 screens

● Final Wireflow displaying all the interactions

● Annotations - annotated Design principles applied (e.g. Norman's design principles or Nielsen's heuristics)

5. Usability Evaluation of your Figma Design Screens (3-5 users)

● Explain the methodology of your usability evaluation (Heuristic Evaluation, Usability Testing, Think-aloud, In-person or remote interviews, Audio/Video recording etc). You should clearly mention your evaluation goals and the outcomes.

● Evidence of any iteration done after initial usability evaluation.

6. Mockups, images displaying your final designs in a professional way.

● Make sure you give credit, reference to any templates, online resources, Figma community used for your mockups

7. Include an accessible link to your working Figma prototype.

● You need to make sure that your final prototype exhibits at least ONE user flow, not every aspect has to be interactive.

● Make sure you have changed the settings to 'Public' so that your tutors can access the link.

● Locked file will be counted as zero-evidence.

8. References: APA style reference list and in-text citation required for methods used, design principles followed, or any other resources/literature used.

9. Appendix: Iterated screens, transcripts/raw data of your Usability Evaluation, any other supplementary materials.
