Group Presentation Instructions - Design an assessment centre
You are a group of I/O Psychologists employed by a consulting firm in Mainland China. This firm specializes in selection and assessment related services, such as helping clients to design assessment centres to recruit the best candidate. Three of your firm’s current clients are: a University, a football club, and a music company.
In the next assignment, you have to help your firm to design a 2-day assessment centre for one of the following three jobs listed by the clients. You will find further information for each job in a separate document.
1. Psychology Professor at a University in Beijing
2. Sport Psychologist at a professional football club in the Chinese Super League
3. Head of Press at a Music Company based in Shanghai
You will be delivering a 25 minute business presentation for the client to explain your plans for the assessment centre. You are expected to cover the following:
- Why do we need assessment centre to recruit the best candidate?
- What are the KSAOs required for this job?
- What kind of exercises will be used to assess the candidates?
- Why are you choosing such exercises?
- Who will be the assessor for each exercise?
- A KSAOs x exercises matrix table and a clear time-table for each of the 2 days
- Any other important issues you want your client to know?
*Deadline for PPT submission (via email): 24 hours before your presentation time (penalty for late submission: 1% reduction per hour)
*There will be a Q & A session after the presentation. Groups that are not presenting that day will act as the client. Be prepared to ask questions (think about the 5Ws: what, who, why, where, when). Individually, each non-presenting group member will need to send me two comments or suggestions for the presenting group. Deadline will be 11pm on the following day (i.e., Thur), these will contribute to your tutorial participation mark.
