The objectives of this and subsequent assignments are to develop:

1. Ethical practice: a commitment to sustainability and high ethical standards in social and professional practices

Assignment Task

For this assignment, you will work in groups of 3-4 to analyse the leadership styles and contributions of three distinct leaders. Your group will write three academic essays, which will be consolidated into a single document/report for Assignment 2. The combined word count for the report should be a minimum of 3000 words.

NOTE: Only ONE member of the group needs to submit the Assignment 2 report.

Leader Selection

Choose leaders from different fields such as business/corporate, technology and innovation, government/politics, healthcare, academia/education, non-profit and social etc.

Consider selecting leaders from diverse cultural backgrounds to analyse leadership theories/styles across cultures.

Groups

1. Although this is a group assignment, individual marks will be allocated based on group contribution/evaluation. So, each student must work in a collaborative group environment using available online platforms. ICL provides you with a Google (@icl.school.nz) account - with Google Docs, Drive, Chat and Meet to facilitate this collaboration.

2. Assignment groups will be formed with 3-4 students in each group. Each group formed by students must be approved by lecturer before the start of the analysis/writing process.

3. Each group will select three leaders for writing this academic essay AND the selected leaders must be different from one group to another. That means same leader cannot be selected by another group. Therefore, selected leaders must be approved by the lecturer before the start of writing the essay.
