INSTRUCTIONS:

1.   This is a GROUP assignment.

2.   Maximum number of members per group = THREE.

3.   Total marks: 50 marks maximum

4.   Course weightage and contribution: 30%

5.   Submission date (Stream): Friday, 17 May 2024, no later than 11:50 pm

6.   Online submission on Stream: COMPULSORY

7.   Late assignments will be penalised as per course guide.

8.   You must include the names and IDs of your team member(s), the course number,

the course title, and the names of the course teaching team on the cover page.

QUESTION 1: 5 MARKS

Explain what is meant by a “Standard Method of Measurement”

QUESTION 2: 10 MARKS

Explain the importance of using a standard method of measurement.

QUESTION 3: 5 MARKS

Explain the uses of a Bill of Quantities (BoQ) at various stages of the project.

QUESTION 4: 30 MARKS

Draw a process flowchart mapping the various stages of preparing a BoQ following the

group method.  You are required to identify the:

.    The stakeholders’ roles and what they do at each stage

.    Resulting inputs and outputs at each stage
