Mid-Semester Exam Instruction

Semester 2, 2021

Please read this instruction carefully.

1. Exam date: Wednesday 1 September 2021.

2. Time: 5pm in AEST.

3. Exam questions and Zoom link: You will find the exam questions, Zoom link and submission site for the exam on Wattle page. Find the ’Mid-Semester Exam’ block in the course page.

4. Exam Reading/Writing/Submission: The Exam must be completed between 5PM and 6:45PM.

● Zoom invigilation

– You can join the Zoom session starting from 4:30PM. Details of the Zoom link will be provided on Wattle page in Week 6.

– Please be advised a random ID check will be done before or during the exam, so make sure you have an appropriate photo ID (student ID card or passport) available.

– You will be required to keep your camera on during the exam time including scanning and uploading answers via Zoom meeting. If you are writing on paper your camera must face you. If you are writing on a tablet or similar your camera must see both you and your tablet.

1. Additional Details

● At 6:30PM the exam ends and you must stop writing. This means you have 90 minutes of reading + writing time in total.

● You have up to 15 minutes to scan and submit your exam script. All submissions after this due time will NOT be accepted.

● The Mid-Semester exam covers materials from Week 1 to Week 5 (inclusive). For each question, you must show your work and give as much details as possible.

● Please have writing utensils and paper ready. Your exam may be handwritten or written on a device.

● It is your responsibility to ensure that your handwriting is legible. Markers reserve the rights to not mark any illegible exam which would result a mark of zero.

● All writing and graphs must be facing upright (i.e. your work must not be sideways or upside down). All pages of your answers must be numbered appropriately.

● You must submit your exam answers in ONE file ONLY.

● You can submit your exam early, but it is your own responsibility to ensure that your submission is successful. For example, you need to check the e-mail confirmation of your successful submission and also check on Turnitin to make sure that you can see your sub-mission there.

● You may also submit your work to the ‘backup’ submission link on Wattle. Work submitted through any means other than the main submission link or backup link will not be accepted.
