2. Derive all maximum and minimum points of

3. Derive all maximum points of
f (x1 , x2 , x3 ) = x1(0) .3 x2(0) .3 x3(0) .4
subject to
x1 + x2 + x3 = 10.
4. Without explicitly solving (e.g. without using the method of Lagrangian multipliers), (a) Find the global maximum of
f (x1 , x2 , x3 ) = x1(2) + 2x2(2) + 3x3(2)
subject to
x1(2) + x2(2) + x3(2) = 100. Assume xi > 0 for all i.
(b) Find the global minimum of the same function subject to
x1(2) + x2(2) + x3(2) > 100. Assume xi > 0 for all i.
