Letter Grade Assignment
Course grades will be assigned based on the following scheme:
Letter Grade |
Percentages |
A |
90 - 100% |
- |
87 - 89 .99% |
B+ |
83 - 86 .99% |
B |
79 - 82 .99% |
- |
75 - 78 .99% |
C+ |
71 - 74 .99% |
C |
67 - 70 .99% |
- |
63 - 66 .99% |
D+ |
59 - 62 .99% |
D |
55 - 58 .99% |
F |
0 - 54 .99% |
Important! Due to the above adjusted grading scale, there is no numerical rounding in the conversion to a letter grade. This means a numerical grade of 89.99% would result in a letter grade of A-. But also note that typically (in other classes or at other institutions) a percentage of about 89% would most likely be a B+. So the good is that there is a built in curve, but the bad is that there is no rounding.
