MATH 10C: Calculus III (Summer 2, 2022)

Required Text: OpenStax Calculus, Volume 3 https://openstax.org/details/books/calculus-volume-3 

Course Description: Introduction to functions of more than one variable.   Vector geometry, partial derivatives, velocity and acceleration vectors, optimization problems.

Prerequisites: AP Calculus BC score of 3, 4, or 5, or Math 10B, or Math 20B.

Grading:  Version 1.

Homework (20%).  Graded homework will be assigned using Edfinity and will be accessible via our MATH10C_SP22_A00 Canvas site.  More details are below.

Midterm Exam 1 on Friday August 12, during lecture time (20%).

Midterm Exam 2 on Friday August 26, during lecture time (20%).

Final Exam, TBA (40%), TBA. 

Version 2.  Homework (20%), best midterm (20%), final exam (60%).

Final Grade: At the end of the course, we will calculate both versions of your grade and give you the higher score.  Letter grades will be decided and assigned accordingly at the end of the quarter.

Exam Policies:  There are NO make-up exams for any reason and the exams will not be offered at alternate times.  Calculators and online tutors are NOT allowed (i.e. Chegg, etc.) during the exam.  Cheating will not be tolerated. Homework Policies: Due on Mondays and Thursdays.  There are 7 assignments in total, but only the top 5 scores will go towards your final grade. Discussing homework with others is OK. It is expected that everyone writes in his/her own words the homework solutions.   Late submissions will NOT be accepted.
