ABOUT THIS SUBJECT

User Interface (UI) Design focuses on creating interactive interfaces which are intuitive and easy to access and understand. This subject will introduce you to the main theories, methods and techniques that are     applied to UI design and evaluation. Main topics include design thinking, user research analysis, iteration  and prototyping, and user testing. Based on these UI theories and techniques, you will create mobile         prototypes with wireframe tools and evaluate them with UI testing methods in practice classes and           assignments.

SUBJECT INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES (SILOs)

Upon successful completion of this subject, you should be able to:

1 Analyse and identify UI design issues based on UI design principles.

2 Apply wireframe tools to both low-fidelity and high-fidelity UI prototype design.

3 Conduct UI evaluations with cognitive walkthrough and heuristic evaluation.

4 Use statistical methods to interpret and evaluate usability testing results.
