A  furniture  company,  known  as  FURNBEST  Co.  Ltd.  manufactures  customised decorative chairs for home furniture. The company publishes policies that protect their clients from downtime costs due to production system failures. Maintaining smooth production processes is very important to the company because long cycle times of producing chairs not only put the client at risk, but the company could also lose orders/ business. The top management of the company is concerned that the production process is not performing well because of long cycle times, measured in minutes. Table Q2 presents the cycle times of producing the chairs for five days. Each day includes eight randomly selected chairs. The factors for computing control chart limits with 3-sigma standard is provided in the appendix Table A1.
