First Report (Course work I) Instruction
Project Brief:
This is an individual project.
In this project, you are required to employ the descriptive analysis to interpret one finance market of your interests during the COVID19 pandemic period (from Dec 2019 to Feb 2022). You can target stocks, futures, options, cryptocurrency and other mainstream financial products for your analysis. Justify your choice of product and sectors in your introduction. You will gain knowledge of introducing, presenting and simple statistical analysis of finance data in this project.
The following information are recommended but not limited to.
• Data collection,
• Data graphic presentation
• Descriptive analysis
The aim of this assignment is to provide the student with an opportunity to develop skills in an area of statistics of interest to them.
The Report should include
• Sufficient background explanation with references that justifies and
places the market choice into context.
• A complete description of the sample, variables and data collection methods.
• Presentation of the primary analysis with tables and figures.
• Interpret the findings
• Utilize R or other statistical software for your analysis
Would Count 2000 words excluding tables , figures and appendix. The report accounts for 15% of your module marks.
Submission Deadline: 4pm Mar 26 2022

The Final report should be uploaded to ICE Turnitin system.
Failure to submit the paper by the specified deadline without written medical reasons or other valid reasons given in writing prior to the deadline (applying for mitigating circumstances) will normally result in a mark of zero being recorded. Late submission policy will apply.
Students must not plagiarise. Plagiarism is a form of cheating. All work written by others must be cited clearly and unambiguously. All internet references must be cited accurately. Guidance will be given by the tutor and if in any doubt students must discuss matters concerning referencing with the tutor. Student’s work may be subject to checking using plagiarism software. This can check for collaboration between students and copying and pasting from sources via the web (including PDFs, e-books and journal articles).
Marking Scheme for the Report
Marks are not given for the quality of presentation. Submissions should be of a good quality, as would be expected in a professional environment. Papers with typographical errors, weak structure and very poor grammar will receive lower marks as this reduce understanding.
