Instructions

Part A Details: Finishes, Fittings & Equipment (FF&E) Schedule

Prepare a detailed scheduling document to accompany your nominated design scheme for the allocated project. You are required to specify all materials, FF&E, and quantities (costings are optional) for your environment (note lighting is covered in Brief 3). You need to develop appropriate methods for communicating your design to clients, builders, and consultants—from concept design to construction—as well as the importance of nominating appropriate materials, furniture, textiles, joinery items and fittings. The role of quality assurance and sustainable design in realising an efficient residential project will also be assessed.

Part B Details: Materials Board:

Research materials and prepare and compile into a material board with actual materials that correspond directly to your design scheme. Adhere all materials and finishes (swatch/chip samples) onto foam-core or other suitable board. The presentation should be of a professional standard. It should be clearly labelled.

Note: you are required to do extensive research into materials, through design references, printed text, journals, and publications before selecting your final materials and finishes. You will need to obtain samples direct from the suppliers. You may need to order samples, and it can take some time for these to arrive.

Part B: Materials Board Images must be included in Part C Presentation
