Word Count
The 6,000 words +/-10% include your main text and any appendices necessary to your argument but NOT your list of references. If you include in appendices material such as final copies of questionnaires, covering letters to interviewees, or other material of this type, which in themselves are not part of the argument, it will NOT normally be included in the word count. You may go over or under the number of words specified by 10% without penalty. The idea of the limit is to tell you how deeply we expect you to go into the subject, so it makes sense to aim as close as possible to it. Do not imagine that the more words you use the more marks you will get. If you go significantly over or under the word count you will lose marks.
