Academic Session: Semester 1, 2021/2022
Mini Project
A Path Planning Optimization using Hybrid Algorithm against Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) Algorithm
You are required to develop a Hybrid Algorithm (either Neuro-Fuzzy System / Evolutionary Neural Network System / Fuzzy Evolutionary System / Evolutionary Neuro Fuzzy System) and compare the result against the result obtained from the example provided using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for solving a static path planning problem. The proposed algorithm must cover all aspects written in rubric provided. This mini project can be implemented using any programming language of your own choice (Scilab,
MATLAB, C++, JAVA, etc). The link to the example ishttps://github.com/gabrielegilardi/PathPlanning.
For the problem, use the same layout provided by the example 1 with these configurations:
nRun = 20
nPts = 5
d = 50
nPop = 100
epochs = 500
f_interp = 'cubic'
Xinit = None.
Assignment Due Date: 31 January 2022 (Monday), 23:59 p.m.
Assignment Type: Group assignment (3 students).
Submission Procedure: A zip/rar package which consists of the following items is to be submitted via the eLearn@USM:
1. A mini project report (Please follow the template given to you and please do not change any format provided) which explains the algorithm and technique used as well as the experiments performed to obtain the best results. All the important aspects such as population size, initialization, parameter setting, stopping criteria, and fitness function design should be consistant. [Hint to create a good report: The report should be prepared in such a way that it allows one to replicate your experiments]
2. All other supporting documents which can make the evaluator understand your work .
3. The zip/rar package must be named according to the following notation: CCS516_MINI_PROJECT_MATRIC.
Mini Project Evaluation: The evaluation is based on your report and presentation which both contribute 50% each for overall marks. Please refer to the rubric provided to you for the details of each component and how they are assessed.
Reference: Kindly state any source of reference in your assignment script should you refer to various sources to complete this assignment.
IMPORTANT: Students who copied or plagiarized other’s work or let their work be copied or plagiarized will be given an F grade. The student may be barred from sitting for final exam and reported to the university’s disciplinary board.
