Step-by-Step Portfolio Guide
1. What to Include in the Portfolio
Your portfolio must be a scanned or photographed collection of all writing materials from the semester, organized chronologically. Include:
✅ All workshop drafts (Freewriting exercises, 4 in class assignments: 2 monologue drafts & 2 Short Play Drafts).
✅ Final versions of Assignment 1 (Monologue) and Assignment 2 (Short Play).
✅ Dated notes from lectures, tutorials, and peer feedback sessions.
✅ Reflective commentary (see Step 2).
Format:
• Submit as a single PDF file (combine scans/photos in order).
• Label each document with:
o Title (e.g., "Monologue Draft – Week 2")
o Date written
o Brief context (e.g., "Response to Stimulus 3: My Biggest Fear")
2. Reflective Commentary (30% of Portfolio Grade)
For each major piece (monologue & short play), write a 300-word reflection covering:
◇ Inspiration – What sparked your idea? (Refer to stimuli, discussions, or examples.)
◇ Creative Process – Did you use the Pantser method? How did your draft evolve?
◇ Peer/Lecturer Feedback – What suggestions did you apply (or reject)? Why?
◇ Self-Critique – What worked well? What would you improve?
3. The Constructive Critique (10% of Portfolio Grade)
Include one 200-word critique of a peer’s work (from workshops or assignments).
Address:
Strengths (e.g., strong character voice, compelling conflict).
Areas for Growth (e.g., clarity, pacing, emotional impact).
Specific suggestions (e.g., "Try shortening sentences in the climax for tension.").
Note: Be respectful and constructive—imagine you’re helping them revise!
