3. COURSE SYNOPSIS

This course enables students to understand better the current position of the Malaysian Economy and its features. It familiarizes students with the economic terms used commonly in economic reports and their implications. The course aims to enable students to become more sensitive to how the private sector responds to government actions. The course begins by tracing Malaysia’s economic development in the last forty years. Other topics include the determinants of economic growth, public financing and  private sector responses, tools of analysis, annual economic reports and economic forecasting.
