Unit One Exam Study Guide
The Unit I Exam is due by the end of Thursday, July 10. The test form (available on Canvas) should be printed before beginning the exam. You will need to submit the exam onto Canvas before the 80-minute time limit expires.
Part I: Harmony and Partwriting
1. Spell the following chord in SATB (choral) spacing and resolve as
indicated. Use proper spacing and voice leading. (The exam will include three examples like these.)
2. Given the fully-diminished seventh chord below, and its analysis,
enharmonically respell the chord so that it would function as a secondary viio7 in another key (your choice, provided the respelling is accurate) . Provide the analysis in the new key (be sure to identify the new key as well) and resolve the chord using tendency tones. Label the chord of resolution. (The exam will include one example like this)
