Summary and Purpose of Assessment
This assessment AT2 is the 2nd of 3 assessment tasks you will need to complete satisfactorily, in order to be deemed competent for this unit. AT1 was completed using AutoCAD, AT2 & AT3 are to be completed using Revit.
You will collaborate and consult with team members and outside agencies to identify required industry procedures and integrate digital applications into an architectural workflow.
This assessment task allows you to demonstrate your ability integrating applications into architectural projects using BIM-based process.
Assessment Instructions
Building Information Modelling is the streamlined production of drawings by creating a digital 3D model composed of building elements, loaded with data that describe not only geometry, but also other non-graphic properties such as material, fire rating, costs, manufacturer procedures, quantities etc. All the plans, sections, and elevations are representations (or views) of the model. Producing these drawings are no longer the act of drawing isolated, repetitive, and discontinuous lines that in themselves have no intrinsic meaning.
You will need to submit a collated portfolio of evidence demonstrating the identification, development and application of a range of processes, protocols and conventions to a simple architectural project.
There are 2 parts to the AT2 Revit house project (both tasks will be compiled as the project develops and all aspects need to be completed) to be assessed:
• Task 1: Create a Project file (The project file will consist of the listed items) a Time sheet, BIM Execution plan, office standards ref to As1100.301, Material list and Consultants list (Digital output only).
• Task 2: The Drawing Set provide a fully documented industry standard AT2 page size drawing set all sheets will be plotted to A2 in a combined Pdf. The sheets produced will be named A00 to A06 refer to dwg list (digital output only). You will create weekly reports and timesheets demonstrating the tasks that you have undertaken, the outputs you have achieved and your findings about design and integrating digital software applications.
And will upload after each session to the IDA_Revit_jpeg @Rvt Weekly validation & progress Submissions link on Canvas Pdf or Jpg output as instructed and a copy of your rvt file for review & validation.
As part of;
Task 1 Create a Project file
You will identify all drawing requirements in relation to industry standards & regulations, demonstrating organisational standards and overall practice workflows. You will need to setup workflows, timesheets, file management systems and other key strategies for managing the workflow while completing Task 2. You should refer to the criteria in the Marking Guide at section B of this assessment to identify the key milestones for the preparation stage of the project. You will use the Task 2 instructions, consultation, research and your knowledge of the task to identify the remaining tasks and activities required to be demonstrated in your individual workflow and standards that will apply to each task.
The systems, processes and documentation setup in Task 1 will then be used in conjunction with Task 2.
Task 2
Refer to the AT2 Revit House Brief for specifications on the current project being documented for these assessment drawings. You are to discuss your drawing requirements with your colleagues, to ensure compliance with the project outcomes. You should take notes and attach these notes as part of your submission.
You must produce each of the following drawings and submit them in PDF format:
All sheets to be plotted to scale using a A2 Revit title sheet family and named as stated below.
● A00_Cover sheet (to include General notes, Legends and schedules)
● A01_Site Plan at 1:200
● A02_Ground & 1st Floor Plans at 1:100
● A03_All 4 Elevations at 1:100
● A04_2 Sections at 1:50 +1 x 3D section box view
● A05_2 Details at 1:10
● A06_2 Renders/ 3D views
Note
• All above drawings to be submitted in a combined PDF format (on completion).
• A copy of the current Revit rvt file will be uploaded at the end of every session every week and on completion of the assessment for validation.
*Canvas online submission to include Revit file + combined PDF’.
Submission date Week 10 at the end of the session refer to Canvas.
You will be allowed some in-class and studio time to complete this assessment using the computers, policies, procedures and other documentation available. You will complete the remaining activities in your private study environment.
Where Be uploaded to Canvas assignments by the required due date.
For the amount of time spent working in the studio environment on this assessment you will be expected to spend the same amount of time weekly working and practicing your newly learned & acquired skills.
