Winter 2024 - MUSIC 2F03 – Listening Journal Assignment – 15% of Final Grade

This assignment will provide you with the opportunity to practice and develop the active recognition of musical concepts discussed in the course by selecting and listening critically to film music that has not been discussed or assigned in the weekly course material.  In total, you will select 5 scenes from 5 separate narrative films (one scene per film), each from a different decade that include music, and you will provide a detailed journal entry for each - see the Assignment Requirements, Journal Entry Template, and Assignment Rubric below for details.

This assignment is due in Week 11 on March 26th, 2024. Completed journals must be submitted via the specified Assignment Dropbox on Avenue to Learn. While this assignment is due close to the end of the term, it is highly recommended that you complete individual portions of this assignment weekly, throughout the term, as we explore music and film from various time periods.  All entries will, however,  be submitted together in your completed journal on the due date.

This assignment will be assessed for originality through Turnitin.
