Content of the assignment: In this subject, due to limitation of time, we have no time for going into the details of different types of lamp bubs/tubes, and different energy saving technologies in lifts and escalators/moving walkway. This assignment is on these two areas, such that you can learn something in these area by yourself – via internet search or book study.

a)   Lamp bulbs/tubes

I)           Find out the meaning of CCT (corelated Color Temperature) and CRI (Color

Rendering Index) of a lamp bulb/tube, and why they are important in lighting design. What are the recommended values of CCT & CRI in different types of rooms.

II)          Compare different types of lamp blubs/tubes in the area of efficacy, CCT, CRI, life, output degradation rate, starting time, any special gear is required in control/starting the lamp, area of applications, constrains on applications, advantages, and disadvantages, operation principles,  etc.
