Assignment 1: Analysis of a Case Study (MLO1, 60%)
This assessment task requires students to produce a critical analysis of a case study through the lens of various leadership approaches in school settings. Students should be able to critically evaluate approaches used to enhance leadership in a specific school setting. More importantly, they should be able justify their conclusions by examining strengths and weaknesses of leadership approaches based on evidence and/or experience.
In the form of a report, the analysis of a case study analysis should have the following information:
1. General information about the case*
a. Background of the district/school/leader
b. Details of the specific problem/s of the district/school/leader
2. Analysis of the problem/s of the district/school/leader
3. Solutions to the problem/s of the district/school/leader
4. Recommendations to other school leaders based on this case study
*The case could be based on any of the following:
a. Professional/personal experience of the student
b. Personal knowledge of a particular school/district/leader
c. Interview (school leader, teacher)
d. Research
e. Case studies (online, textbooks, etc.)

IMPORTANT
It is the responsibility of the student to ensure adherence to all the requirements of this module, including complete, non-plagiarized submission of all materials and documents before the deadlines set. Assignment 2: Reflective Essay (MLO 2, 40%)
This assessment task requires students to produce a reflective essay on aspects of school leadership based on their theoretical understanding, critical perspectives, and professional experience. As a critical reflection, they should be able to refer to leadership theories and models in presenting their thoughts and experiences on school leadership aspects that may have a significant effect on student learning and school environment.
In the form of an essay, the reflection should show evidence of self-awareness and decision-making by covering the following points:
□ Describe at least ONE prior learning experience for each of the following topics: concept of leadership, leadership styles, distributed leadership, and principal as curriculum leader
□ Evaluate each prior learning experience (the extent of understanding and its relation to professional growth)
□ Analyze in relation to other theories/learning experiences (Does this contradict/support your personal/professional belief or other school leadership experts?)
□ Reflect on opportunities for personal/professional growth and maturity
Among other things, the reflective essay should:
● Have a personal voice in terms of reviewing prior learning experience in this module in the context of school leadership.
● Identify and critically discuss theories and concepts in school leadership.
● Examine the personal principles related to professional leadership practice.
