Assessment Tasks:

The coursework is split into two parts, Part A and Part B available on Blackboard. There are 6 Coursework Tasks, 1 x in Part A and 5 x in Part B. It is not necessary to document Coursework Task 1 concerned with setting up your model, however, it may be necessary to add details throughout the report to explain your model implementation.

Technical  Note  –  no  more  than  8  pages  excluding references. See template for suggested sections.

Report Format and Suggested Sections:

Students are expected to submit a two-column individual technical note of no more than 8 pages excluding references conforming to an IEEE academic paper template which can be found on Blackboard in either Word or LaTeX format, along with instructions. Coursework Tasks 2-6 should be addressed in the technical note. Examples of style, references, conventions, diagrams and figures can be found in published papers on IEEEXplore and the template. Formal technical language is expected throughout. Diagrams, graphs, and photographs should be of publication quality, see IEEEXplore and the template for examples. Diagrams of the actuator may be derived from the CAD model, with appropriate references.

Assessment Criteria:

Each of the Coursework Tasks 2-6, will be graded using the University of Bristol’s 21-point scale (see next page).

An optional feedback session will be held in Week 21 or 22 in which you can seek high-level feedback and guidance on your technical note structure and presentation prior to the submission deadline in Week 23.
