SOC4316 Assignment 1

Title of the Project: Impact of home-based online telecommuting on productivity during the COVID-19 epidemic

The topic I would like to investigate focuses on quantitatively assessing how the use of digital tools in a remote working environment affected the productivity of company employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, where many people were suddenly forced to move from in-person working to remote working due to the spread of the virus during the previous years of the COVID-19 pandemic. But the pandemic couldn't stop the economy, and people had to open up new modes of work to keep their businesses running. This provides contextual support for studying the relationship between the use of digital tools and productivity. This study is likely to involve employees of companies in their 30s and 50s who have been affected by COVID-19 and have switched to working online. I think this topic is very important and interesting, it explains the effectiveness of digital transformation in remote working environments and its impact on employee productivity (performance) and I am interested in the potential of these digital tools such as zoom or team in shaping remote productivity. Especially in the unprecedented conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic, my research aims at identifying the key reasons that help or hinder productivity in the work environment and maybe provide some suggestions for organizations to optimize their teleworking strategies.
