1.  This exercise requires dowloading from the readings folder the zipped ile  “voting16.cps” .   The ile contains the code I used to generate the last 2 slides of lecture #3.  You may use either voting.do or voting.R depending on your language preferences.

(a)  Run the following three regressions on subsets of the data as follows:

(b)  Generate appropriate dummies and run the regression stated at the end of Page 11 of the lecture 3 slides.

i. Verify that the estimates from the regressions above satisfy:  α = a0 , β = b0 , α 1  = a1  — a0 , β1  = b1  — b0 , etc...
