COMP637 Business Analysis Project - Assignment 3

Assignment 3

2 Reports

REPORT 1

You work for the Business Analysis Organisation “BAOrg”. BAOrg has been commissioned by Riccarton Repairs to produce a Requirements Document and perform an Initial Market Scan, that will eventually be used to develop a business case for the company to purchase   or develop an Automotive Workshop Management System. As you know from your previous assignments, the current processes are disjointed, manual, and paper based.

You have been tasked a write a Report for BAOrg.  Your Report will comprise of 3 sections.

1.   Section 1 of the Report - Requirements Document on Functionality: You have been tasked by BAOrg to write a Requirements Document, which will require you to examine the transcripts provided in Assignments 1 and 2 (we have provided these again and attach them in this Assignment 3).

The Requirements Document must include the following sections:

a.   Identify “ten main functional requirements of the system”. These need to be presented as a list of bullets points, and each bullet needs to include a few  sentences explaining the functional requirement at a very high level.

b.   Identify “three non-functional requirements of the system” that need to be considered as part of the solution. Again, you need only list these requirements as bullets points with a few sentences for each explaining the non-functional requirement at a very high level.

2.   Section 2 of the Report - Initial Market Scan:  You have also been tasked by BAOrg to perform a high-level Initial Market Scan as part of your report.

Your Initial Market Scan must include the following:

a.   Identify and list (bullet points is fine) three (3) existing Automotive Workshop Management Systems that are currently available on the market to either purchase or subscribe to, that could be a possible viable solution for Riccarton Repairs.

b.  Write a summary description for each system that includes:

i.  An overview of the proposed system and how it works;

ii.   How the system will meet at least three (3) functional requirements and one (1) non-functional requirement you have identified in Section 1; and

iii.   Identify at least two (2) areas of the system that might need further review to determine the system’s suitability for Riccarton Repairs.

3.   Section 3 of the Report - Conclusion:  Conclude the report with a brief overview of:

a.  Your recommended system and why you are recommending the proposed system;

b.  Whether your recommended system can meet the majority of the functional requirements and non-functional requirements identified in Section 1 (i.e., the recommended system meets at least five (5) functional requirements and one (1) non-functional requirement); and

c.   consider at least one (1) functional or non-functional requirement’s that may require further review of your recommended system.
