TAXATION I PROJECT

SEMESTER 1, SESSION 2023 - 2024

TITLE: INDIVIDUAL INCOME TAXATION ASSESSMENT

You must complete the completed Income Tax Return Form using the original form (BE 2022 or B2022). You may use actual information of your contacts (close relatives or any individual eligible to pay taxes, including yourself), or you may choose to create fictitious information. It is recommended that the taxpayer be limited to individuals with employment income and other income only. If you are using the actual information of a taxpayer, please explain that these documents are for the use of this course only and will not meant to provide any threats to anyone. All documents must be attached in order based on the sequential reference number. Some of the things you need to do are as follows:

1.       Download the Income Return Form from the IRBM site.

i.          Sila kelamanutama IRBM (https://www.hasil.gov.my/en/).

ii.        Click ‘Forms ’ ’Download Forms ’ ’Individual ’.

iii.       Choose between ‘Resident Individual -Doing business ’ OR ‘Resident

Individual -Not doing business

iv.       Year of Assessment ‘2022 ’.

v.         Download the BE 2022 form if there is only salary income. Download Form B

2022 if you have employment income and other income.

vi.        Print the BE 2022 or B 2022 forms, whichever is applicable.

2.         Fill in the information in the form based on the available attachment documents/fictitious documents that you have created.

3.         The attachment documents can be used depending on what the selected taxpayer has, including documents such as the following:

i.        Income statement and scheduled tax deductions from the employer,

ii.       Birth certificate of the child,

iii.      Children’s education documents (any document that can prove that the children are currently attending school or studying at IPT),

iv.      Life, education or health insurance payment statement for each deduction made,

v.       Purchase or donation receipts for tax deductions and releases,

vi.      zakat receipts and other necessary documents.

4.         Students must INDICATE THEIR OWN NAME   in the acknowledgement” and “firm

information and signatures of the person providing this express form” section.

5.         Completed forms and attachment documents must be submitted no later than the last week of college (14th week), i.e., Sunday, 1 9  January 2024,  5.00 pm via UKMFolio.

Early submission is welcome.

6. Completed work (forms and attachment documents) should be scanned and saved in one  PDF file. Please ensure all confidential documents sent have been barred with “EPPA3023” before  scanning.  The  submission  file  should  be  in  pdf format  with  the  name USING STUDENT REGISTRATION NO AND NAME. EXAMPLE: A123456_ALI BIN ABU

7. The soft copy file (pdf format) should be submitted through UKMFolio under the course EPPA3023: Taxation.

8.         Please note that the possible maximum marks that students can get are also depending on the attachment documents used in the project:

i.          Project with 7 different attachments: Maximum 15 marks

ii.        Project with 5 different attachments: Maximum 10 marks

iii.       Project with 3 different attachments: Maximum 5 marks

Please note that the maximum marks relative to the attachment are only the possible maximum marks. The actual marks will still be based on the accuracy of the work that you submitted. Thanks.
