PURPOSE
The aim of this assignment is to use the SPSS computer package to interpret and analyse quantitative data that is already obtained and provided to students.
TASKS
Section A:
1. Identify a suitable topic in International Business, and formulate a research question, aim and objectives within the context.
2. Develop a hypothesis and design a questionnaire on this topic that would help answer your research question and generate your data set.
3. Collect relevant databased on your questionnaire design.
Section B:
4. With the aid of SPSS and suitable extracts of data, demonstrate the use of:
(a) Descriptive statistics in the form of:
(i) appropriate graphical representation e.g. pie charts, bar charts, line graphs, histograms etc.
(ii) appropriate statistical measures e.g. mean, standard deviation, skewness etc.
(b) Appropriate procedures to examine the distribution of the data.
(c) Appropriate significance testing for statistical hypotheses.
5. Summarise, analyse and discuss your results in a written account.
6. Comment and reflect on the usefulness of this survey and analysis as a pilot study for a larger research project e.g. improvements to questionnaire, other research material, further possible analysis etc.
