Course Description：

series solutions of diferential equations, Bessel functions, Fourier series, partial diferential equa- tions and boundary value problems, nonlinear diferential equations.

prerequisites：  MATH 211OQ and 241OQ, or MATH 2144Q or 242OQ. Not open for credit to students who have passed MATH 3412.  May not be taken out of sequence after passing MATH 343O.

Exam：

1. There will be two midterms and one inal.   Dates  of  the  exams will  be  announced on HuskyCT.

2. Make-up  exams  for  midterms  will  not  be  given.   If you  miss  a midterm due to unavoidable, compelling, and well-documented circumstances, then a decision will be made as to how to appropriately weight your other grades.

3. your  camera  must  be  turned  on  during  the  exams.   without  turning  on  your camera you will receive a O.  You must show your face to the camera for 5 seconds during a “precheck”. Each exam will be recorded.

Quiz

1. There will be ive quizzes during the semester. Missing a quiz will count as a O. Make-up quizzes will not be given.  The lowest quiz grade will be dropped at the end of the semester.

2. Time and coverage of each quiz will be announced on HuskyCT seperately.

3. your  camera  must  be turned on  during the  quizzes.   without turning on your camera you will receive a O.  You must show your face to the camera for 5 seconds during a “precheck”. Each quiz session will be recorded.

Homework:

1. Homework is assigned weekly and questions are uploaded on HuskyCT every Friday. 2. Homework will be collected on HuskyCT the following Friday.

3. It,s OK to get signiicant help from any resource, but in the end, please write your own solution in your own words.

4. CHECK your HW against the solutions (posted on sunday after the due date).

5. Each assignment is out of 2O points, all points are for su伍cient efort on completing all problems.

6. Late assignments will not be accepted and there will be 笑o exceptions to this policy! If you do not inish by the deadline, submit whatever you have anyway!

The lowest assignment grade will be dropped at the end of the semester.

Grades:

Letter grades: After your average is calculated, letter grades will be assigned based on the stan- dard grading cut-ofs.

Recording Lectures:  Classes  for this semester,s course will be conducted over zoom.  As the host, I may record these sessions using zoom,s recording feature.  I will let the class know at the beginning of a session if I plan to record the session.  The recording feature for others in attendance will be disabled so that no one else will be able to record a session.  In order to protect student privacy and intellectual property rights, students are prohibited from recording any session, or any portion of a session, by other means. At my discretion and in accordance with university policies and guidelines, I may share one or more the recorded sessions with the class to provide students with an additional opportunity to review course content.   The sharing of any recorded content without my written permission is prohibited. please remember that the unauthorized recording or sharing of course content may be considered a violation of the law, university policy, and/or The student code.
