1. A uniform transmission line has constants, R = 800 µΩ m-1, G = 2.1 mS m-1, L = 0.65 µH m-1, and C
= 14 nF m-1. Find the impedance of the line at frequencies of (a) 1 kHz, (b) 1 MHz and (c) 1 GHz.
2. A uniform transmission line has constants, R = 10 mΩ m-1, G = 2.5 µS m-1, L = 1.5 µH m-1, and C =
2.5 nF m-1. Find the dB attenuation of this line at frequency of 100 kHz.
3. A lossless transmission line has inductance L = 150 nH m- 1. Find the velocity ratio v/c for this line if the shunt capacitance is (a) 10 nF m-1, (b) 100 nF m-1, and (c) 1 µF m-1.
4. Show that the reflection co-efficient, ΓL of a lossless uniform transmission line is equal to:
where ZL =terminal load and Z0 =characteristic impedance.
5. Find the VSWR for the following cases:
(a) Zload = 75 +j 150 Ω on a 75 Ω line;
(b) Zload = 75 + j 0 Ω on a 75 Ω line
(c) Zload = 75 – j25 Ω on a 50 Ω line
