Final Exam Review Questions

Here are few questions to help you review.  Not everything that is on the exam is included here, and not everything here is included on the exam.   This  is meant to cover some of the important things we covered during the semester.  I haven’t included any optimization problems, since they vary a lot from one to the other, and generally take a longer time to complete.  I will try to cover as many of these as possible during our final lecture lecture time, Thursday, July 27.

1. Find y′ if cos(x2  + y2 ) = xey .

5. Find the global (absolute) maximum off(x) = x2 − x + 1 on [0, 3].

6. Find l02 (x − 2x2 )dx as the limit of Rn  as n → ∞ .  Then verify your result using the

FTC.

7. Find l0 1 v2 cos(v3 )dv.

8. Find l1 √3 arctan dx.

9. Find dx.

10.  Find the area between 4x + y2  = 12 and x = y.

11. Find the volume of revolution of the region between x = y2  and x = 1 − y2  about the line x = 3.
