Assessment 1: Research Proposal
Assessment weight and due time (please ignore the due time specified in subject outline)
Length: 3,000 words plus reference list. 15 minutes for presentation
Weighting: 35% (30% for proposal and 5% for presentation)
Proposal due date: Sunday 18/06/2023 (11:50pm, Sunday in Trimester 2, Week 5)
Presentation in class: Tuesday 13/06/2023 Sydney; Wednesday 14/06/2023 Wollongong and distance
Instruction
You are required to prepare a research proposal for your chosen research topic. The purpose of the proposal is to help you focus and define your research plans. It is expected to:
• Show that you are engaging in finding out about something worthwhile in a particular context.
• Connect your proposed work with the work of others, while showing you are familiar with major schools of thought relevant to the topic.
• Determine a particular theoretical orientation.
• Determine a methodological approach.

6. Timeline ( When you will complete the various aspects of the project such as when data will be collected, when data will be analyzed, when you will do the write up?)

Notes: Please consider other structure of the proposal. Any appropriate structure of the report would be appreciated It is suggested that ‘Background’ and ‘Research questions, aims and objectives’ are merged as ‘Introduction’ section.
