•    The assessment for the module consists of work comprising up to 2,500 words that aims to test your understanding of Quantitative Methods in Finance contexts. The assessment will contribute 70% of the total mark for the module.

•    The deadline for submission of your assignment is on 23/02/2023. The assignment should be submitted

electronically to Learning Central.

•    The assessed assignment must be entirely your own work. Severe penalties will be imposed on students who are found guilty of plagiarism.

-     You are required to provide explanation and discussion.

-     Do not produce graphs or tables if you cannot provide related discussion.

-      Support your discussion by means of numerical examples.

-      The reference list should not be included in the word count.

•    1.5 or double line spacing.

•    Proofread to ensure that there are no typos.

Criteria for a good assignment:

-      Good understanding of key concepts and ideas.

-     Ability to critically analyse the relevant theories.

-     Referring to the relevant literature, drawing mainly from scholarly publications.

Bibliography & Referencing:

Refer to the bibliographic resources contained in the Module Handbook of BST956 and mentioned in the lectures/tutorials. In addition, utilise the University’s library, especially the electronic database, which provide full access to peer reviewed academic publications.

The citations in the text and the list of references at the end of the text should be provided according to the Harvard Referencing  System. Failure to acknowledge your  sources appropriately is a  serious academic misconduct and it is strictly penalised.

Q: How many references should I use?

A: No strict requirements. More references and readings are always a good idea. Also make sure that references in the bibliography are the ones you have cited in the main text. You may risk losing marks for having references that are not used in the main text.
