Questions 1-6:

1. In your opinion, what is the crucial educational research today? Why? Identify research design, including statistics used in such research, and its advantages (5 marks).

2. The following list shows the 15 largest banks in the world by assets according to EagleTraders.com. Compute the median and the mean assets from this group. Which of these two measures do think is most appropriate for summarizing these data, and why? What is the value of Q2? Determine the 63rd percentile for the data (5 marks).

3. Shown below are the top book stores in Thailand in a recent year. Assume that the data represent a population. Follow the instructions below (5 marks)

a. Find the range and interquartile range.

b. Find the population variance.

c. Find the population standard deviation.

d. Interpret the supposed case of symmetric distribution.

e. Interpret the supposed case of leptokurtic distributions.

4. Explain the levels of measurement and give the example (5 marks).

5. Explain the difference between bivariate correlation and partial correlation (2 marks).

6. “Happy Staff” is one of the main policies of the university.  Thus, the head of HR department hired you to conduct a research to investigate what are major factors that influence university’s staff job satisfaction.  After interviewing with some key people in the university, you believed that there might be 4 factors that staff concern. These factors includes: (1) Job demands; (2) Job autonomy; (3) Coworker support; and (4) Supervisor support.

After you collected the data from the staff sample, it’s time to conduct the regression analysis to determine what important factors that the company should focus in order to enhance staff satisfaction are.  

a. By using unstandardized beta coefficients to interpret the results. Among the 4 factors (Job demands, Job autonomy, Coworker support, Supervisor support), which one are the strong predictors of job satisfaction? (6 marks)  

b. Overall, how many percent that “all variable” in the regression model can explain job satisfaction? (2 marks)

c. Use regression results to provide the policy recommendation for the university to help them increase staff job satisfaction. (2 marks)
