WEEKLY MATERIALS AND ASSIGNMENTS:
You will be given five (5) individual data warehousing/dimensional modeling assignments during this course. Each assignment will be posted on Canvas and will contain all the information you need, including due dates/times; techniques for completing (e.g., a PowerPoint-based model vs. SQL Server); where to find sample data; etc.
Online Quizzes and Examinations
All quizzes and exams will be administered online through Canvas. The specifics of each quiz and exam will be posted on Canvas; for example, if you will enter essay question responses directly into a Canvas dialog box, or if you will upload a document.
Also posted on Canvas will be quiz and exam open and closing dates and times; allowed time duration to complete a quiz or exam; and all other information you will need to know. You should also consult the Course Schedule for scheduling information about all quizzes and exams for this course. If you see any discrepancies between the course schedule and what’s posted on Canvas, notify your instructor to request clarification.
RESPONDUS LOCKDOWN BROWSER
Each exam and final exam requires the use of Respondus Lockdown Browser. You will need to upgrade to the most recent version of the Respondus Lockdown Browser at:
http://www.respondus.com/lockdown/information.pl?ID=197112001
If you are using the most current version of the RLDB and you experience technical difficulties, contact the Help Center at (855) 278-5080. They are open 24x7.
You must use the Respondus Lockdown Browser to complete the exams and quizzes. You will not be able to Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer, Safari, or any other browser.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY AND ETHICAL BEHAVIOR
From the ASU General Catalog: “The highest standards of academic integrity are expected of all students. Failure to meet these standards may result in suspension or expulsion from the university and other sanctions as specified in the academic integrity policies of the individual colleges.
Violations of academic integrity include, but are not limited to cheating, fabrication, tampering, plagiarism, or facilitating such activities…”
The term “facilitating” includes active or inactive participation in academic dishonesty. Inactive participation includes silent knowledge of violations. This policy relates to all homework, projects, and exams for this course. Please be forewarned that your instructor strongly agrees with this policy, will strive to actively enforce it, and will support punishment for those who violate it. (http://provost.asu.edu/academicintegrity)
The W. P. Carey School takes academic integrity very seriously. Therefore, unless otherwise specified, it is imperative that you do your own work. Any suspected violations of academic integrity will be taken seriously and result in the following sanctions:
• A minimum of zero on the assignment AND
• A reduced grade in the course OR
• A failure in the course OR
• An XE which denotes failure due to academic dishonesty on the transcript OR
• Removal from the W. P. Carey School of Business
The W. P. Carey School of Business community (faculty, students, and staff) strives to maintain the highest levels of professionalism and ethics. The environment is that of a community of learning characterized by mutual respect. At the basic level, expectations of professional behavior patterns (such as promptness and civility) are the norm. Students are expected to exhibit professional and ethical behavior when participating in all School and University activities.

PROHIBITION AGAINST DISCRIMINATION, HARASSMENT, AND RETALIATION
Title IX is a federal law that provides that no person be excluded on the basis of sex from participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity. Both Title IX and university policy make clear that sexual violence and harassment based on sex is prohibited. An individual who believes they have been subjected to sexual violence or harassed on the basis of sex can seek support, including counseling and academic support, from the university. If you or someone you know has been harassed on the basis of sex or sexually assaulted, you can find information and resources at
https://sexualviolenceprevention.asu.edu/faqs.
As a mandated reporter, I am obligated to report any information I become aware of regarding alleged acts of sexual discrimination, including sexual violence and dating violence. ASU Counseling Services, https://eoss.asu.edu/counseling is available if you wish to discuss any concerns confidentially and privately. ASU online students may access 360 Life Services, https://goto.asuonline.asu.edu/success/online-resources.html.
UNIVERSITY POLICIES
Instructor Absence Policy
In the event the instructor fails to indicate a time obligation, the time obligation will be 15 minutes for class sessions lasting 90 minutes or less, and 30 minutes for class sessions lasting more than 90 minutes. Students may be directed to wait longer by someone from the academic unit if they know the instructor will arrive shortly.
Since CIS 355 is an iCourse/ASUOnline course, with asynchronous learning as the primary model, the instructor absence policy is not applicable to this course, and is included in the syllabus only for purposes of compliance with ASU requirements.
University-Sanctioned Activities
Accommodations will be made for students who miss class related to university-sanctioned activities according to ACD
304-02.
If you are participating in a university-sanctioned activity, please let your instructor know as early in the course as possible so that accommodations can be made.
Religious Holidays
Accommodations will be made for students with religious holidays. Below is the calendar of official religious holidays. Each holiday noted with two asterisks denotes an observance for which work is not allowed. For these holidays, students will not be penalized in any way for missing class or assignment. This means that this will not count as an absence in class and they will be granted a makeup assignment or exam, etc.

Disability Resource Center
Every effort will be made to accommodate students with disabilities. When requesting accommodations for a disability, students should register with the Disability Resource Center (DRC), and then submit appropriate documentation through it. (http://www.asu.edu/aad/manuals/ssm/ssm701-01.html)
Threatening Behavior
ASU is committed to having a safe environment for all students and maintaining an atmosphere of respect so that they can feel free in expressing their opinions and asking questions. Students are expected to support the professor in creating such an environment. Any manner of threatening behavior is inappropriate and students are expected to be aware of the University's policies regarding it. Threatening behavior may include endangering, threatening, or causing physical harm to any member of the university community or to oneself or causing reasonable apprehension of such harm. Refer to the following link for what constitutes such threatening behavior: https://students.asu.edu/safety/definitions. Specific policies can be found at: (http://www.asu.edu/aad/manuals/ssm/ssm104-02.html).
