Research Work

Fall 2022

1.   You can use your own research data to complete this project. You are free to change the original data what you submitted as the homework 1 earlier during the semester. If you have no data at hand, you can use of the two datasets provided on the Canvas.

2.   If you plan to do team up, the maximum size of a team is 2. The team details, the data you plan to work, the abstract (or even a partial project work) must be          submitted by Oct 26, 2022 by 3 PM via email using the subject line “Fall 2022   STA 4102 Project Abstract.

3.   You must be ready with the PowerPoint slides of your work by Nov 6, 2022. Presentation schedule will be posted during the first week of November.

4.   Final Submission: Your deliverable must be in a Microsoft Office Word (.doc,         .docx) format.Your work must not be less than 5 pages and more than 10 pages.         Submission must be single spaced, Times New Roman font size of 11, with at least 8 references in MLA format. Cover page, references and appendix must not be counted into your submission work. Your final work should be similar or better than the         article “Non-Parametric Tests Using SAS, by Eldho Varghese and Cini Varghese.

5.   Every Procedure used must be explained in detail with the theory of the topic and the complete details of the SAS Procedure. Similar or better than the article

6.   Submission must be made via Canvas assignments.

7.   Students who provide the results in a high-quality research manuscript with less than 5% plagiarism will receive 10% extra credit (or even more).

8.   Students who have a plagiarism more than 10% must resubmit the work again by completing the suggested changes.

9.   Submissions will be graded by plagiarism, content, citations, and creativity.

10. SAS codes must be included in the Appendix. You can cite them in your work referring to the Appendix.

11. In constructing your deliverable, you will include the following: (use your own flowcharts and figures wherever appropriate).

12. Students who submit their work which is more creative, using new SAS        Procedures, either newly introduced by SAS or which are not included in the Table 1 below, will receive 5% extra credit.

•   A cover page with the name and UID of the student(s) deserving credit for the work.

•   Introduction to the topic.

•   Literature review.

•   Detailed explanation of your topic.

•   SAS Procedures that support the topic you are working.

•   Conclusion

•   References

•   Appendix (with SAS codes: One Single SAS Program including all the SAS Procedures you used)

Using the data, perform the following procedures. All the procedures MUST be fully utilized. Students must check the SAS documentation to learn all the possibilities under a certain     procedure and use them as they fit.

From the PROCs given in the Table 1 below, Project work must include:

1.   All 1 – 5 Procedures given below are compulsory.

2.   Pick at least any one PROCs from 6 – 8 and use it on the data/variables as they fit.

3.   Pick at least two PROCs from 9 – 13 and use it on the data/variables as they fit.

4.   Pick at least one PROC from 14 – 17 and use it on the data/variables as they fit.

5.   Pick at least one PROC from 18 – 21 and use it on the data/variables as they fit.

IMPORTANT: Students are expectedto present alltheirwork as aform ofa research paper.
